Cheese Stuffed Mushrooms
Ingredients:
8-10 large mushroom caps
1 cup finely chopped mushroom stems
1 tsp chili flakes
1 tsp oregano
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 stick of cheese
1 tsp oil (for cooking)
Instructions:
Prepare the Mushrooms: Clean the mushroom caps with a damp cloth and carefully remove the stems. Finely chop the stems and set the caps aside.
Make the Filling: In a pan, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the chopped mushroom stems and sauté for about a minute until they soften. Season with salt, chili flakes, oregano, and white pepper. Mix well to combine.
Add Cheese: Transfer the mixture to a bowl and add the cheese. Return the mixture to the pan, stirring continuously until the cheese melts and blends smoothly with the mushroom mixture.
Stuff the Caps: Generously spoon the cheesy filling into each mushroom cap, packing it in well.
Cook the Mushrooms: In the same pan, add a bit more oil if needed. Place the stuffed mushrooms in the pan, cover with a lid, and cook for about 4-5 minutes , or until the mushrooms are tender and the cheese is bubbly on a low flame.
Serve: Enjoy these cheese stuffed mushrooms warm as a delightful appetizer or party snack!
Feel free to customize the filling with your favorite herbs, spices, or additional ingredients like spinach or diced peppers. Enjoy your cooking!
